In case you don't already know: My Chemical Romance is the shit, and I just so happen to shit every time My Chemical Romance does something. So, you can imagine the boughs of diarrhea I went through when this happened.
This past Friday, if you logged onto MCR's website you would've noticed a startling change to the page's layout. What was once a dainty blog was replaced by this Fallout-esque television. You can change the channels on the TV, all of which play some sort of seemingly nonsensical media. The page is pretty cryptic, offering no clues whatsoever to the reason for the change or what it means.
Now, if you're smart like me (ha!), you would've already guessed this is a hype-builder for MCR's follow-up to their 2006 album, The Black Parade. Some mysterious Twitter accounts also popped up at the same time as the site change. The accounts (@DrDeathDefying, @NewsAGoGo, @AgentCherriCola, and @TommyChowMein) started tweeting weird posts describing a post-apocalyptic world. The accounts were connected to the viral campaign when people began to notice they were being followed by members of the band.
No new clear answers or clues have been given so far, but I will definitely update this post when they pop up.
